Icelandic author Elías Snćland Jónsson was
born in West Iceland. He studied journalism in Norway and
has worked as a journalist since 1963. Jónsson
has written various novels for children and adults. He
also writes plays and recently a German translation of 'Fjörbrot
fuglanna', 'Vögel im
Todeskampf' premiered in Theater Junge
Generation in Dresden. Jónson received the Icelandic
Children's Book Prize in 1993 for Deep in the Glacier.
